Are You a TATOHEAD!!?

I AM!! Hey, I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday!

I had to work on my day off today, which is never good! And I was running late, so I forgot my lunch. But I am so glad I did because I got the chance to try the most amazing fries!! TatoHeads is a gourmet food truck and they visited us my work in downtown Columbus. They have the cutest truck and the fries are amazzzing!

Tatoheads offers three kinds of spuds: fresh cut fries, sweet potato fries and tater tots. They allow you to choose from a list of seasonings like Chicago Deep Dish Pizza (shown below on tots,) Onion Dill Ranch, and Cajun. You also get to pick your choice of dipping sauces. I tried the Tatos Original Fry Dip and it was heaven--a perfect blend of chili and ranch. Mmmmm!

Tatoheads also has three signature combos, which are inspired by tastes from around the globe. The All American features homemade meatless chili, creamy jack cheese and onions. I got to sample this one with the fresh cut fries and, oh my gosh, let me tell you.. I don't like chili to save my life and the meatless chili on the All American was fresh and delicious. The Bengali has pulled curry chicken, braised onion, pineapple and cilantro. I had this one for lunch with Sweet Potato Fries and it was the bomb! The curry flavor in the chicken is not overpowering, it perfectly compliments the sweet juciyness of the pineapple. And the cilantro just finishes it off.

The third Globally Loaded Combo is the Canadian a.k.a. Poutine, which I haven't stopped hearing about since my friend/coworker/photog Brittney first introduced me to them. I am a bit apprehensive to try them as they are fries covered in gravy and cheese. Sounds like a complete heart attack waiting to happen, but Tatoheads doesn't disappoint. Their take on poutine features a rich beef gravy and fresh Wisconsin cheese curds. Maybe next time?

Find and like Tatoheads on Facebook and look for them around Columbus!!

  1. Introduced to Tatoheads last night at The Social, Arena District. Their veggie chili has hooked my taste buds and they will not be quiet until I locate some more. Your description of the Bengali sounds like that dish will likely have the same effect. I'm doomed. Hope to have them join us in Groovy City during the June 9th Wine & Art Festival! Thanks for your photos and descriptions!
