The big highlight of the Canal Winchester Labor Day Festival--to meeee--is Johnny Oaks Cajun BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich. OMG! If you haven't ever had one, you must try one immediately.
The owner, Johnny Oaks, is a colorful man. He has a great personality and seems to be a local food celeb. While I was standing in his 20 minute line, THREE photographers stopped to photograph him. About that Johnny said jokingly, "If I knew I was going to get my picture taken, I would have worn my teeth." He seemed excited to be getting so much attention.
The beef is seasoned very well and smoked...
It is then sliced, covered in a light sauce with chunky diced tomatoes and onions and topped with cajun seasoning spices.
Johhny Oak's has been a vendor at the Canal Winchester Labor Featival for over 5 years and hopefully in August 2012 he will be making an appearance at the 3rd Annual Canal Winchester Blues and Rib Fest as well. If you want to know more about Johnny Oak's Cajun BBQ Catering, click here.
